  • For extra fun, use your colored ducks to decorate cards, bookmarks, or classroom walls.

There are about 100 types of ducks in the world. This type of variation means that ducks have many different shapes, colors and sizes. Ducks can’t sweat. To stabilize body temperature, they use other methods such as swimming or taking shelter, because they do not have sweat glands like humans.

Female ducks usually call louder than males. Their “quack” sound is used to communicate with their young or other ducks. Ducklings can communicate before they hatch. They make sounds from inside the egg to synchronize the hatching time with their siblings, so they can stay together and be safer from predators [2].
